Vertical Motor

Brief Introduction:

A) General
YL(IP23) and YKSL series large-scale 3-phase vertical asynchronous motors(diameter of stator slices
1180mm) are the motors of new generation to replace the YL(IP21) series vertical 3-phase asynchronous ones. They are designed in 1990s by introducing advanced technology of motor design and manufacture from abroad, and by our motor manufacture experiences of 50 years. After near 10 years of marketing, we have improved the design and manufacture technique and the products have position the leading place in China
These motors are designed elaborately and with advanced structure and made of refined materials. They have the features of high-efficiency, low noise, low vibration, reliable and easy to operate and maintain.
The motors comply with the standard GB755 Basic Specifications of Rotary Machine and the standard IEC34-1 Rating and Performance of Rotary Machine.
The motors comply with the standards GB4942.1 and IEC 34-5 Invasion Protection Class of Rotary Machine. According to the above standards. The YL motors have the IP class of IP23 and YKSL motors are IP44 and IP54. If ordering for motors with other IP class, the separate technical agreement is required before order.
According to the standards GB/T1993 and IEC34-6 Cooling Method of Rotary Machine, YL series have the cooling code of IC01 and YKSL is IC81W. If ordering for motors with other cooling type, the separate technical agreement is required before order.
The structure and mounting type of these motors is IMV1(horizontal, flange). They comply with the standards GB997 and IEC34-7 Coding for Motor Structure and Mounting Type.
B) Application
YL(IP23), new YKSL and old YL(IP21) series motors are used for vertical pumps and other vertical mounted machinery, e.g. for the circulation pumps in large thermo power plant. The working conditions are shown as follows.
a) Altitude
1000m.
b) Ambient Temp.
400C; for rolling bearings >-150C; for sliding bearings, >50C; for YKSL, >50C.
c) For YKSL , coolant temp. at cooler inlet
330C and >50C.
d) Maximum month average RH of the most humid month <90% and the month average of lowest temperatures of that month <250C.
e) Power Frequency Variation: 50Hz±1%.
f) Fluctuation of Rated Voltage <±5%.
g) Working Duty: S1.
C) Structure Description
The motor has a box structure, which prevails now. The rectangular base is welded of steel plates, which has the features of sufficient rigidity and less weight. The YL and YKSL motors are different in the covers and air-air(water) coolers.
The stators of our motors are mounted by outside press method and the windings are made of materials of F insulation class and discharge-resistant materials. Winding ends are all fixed with special operation and secured reliably, and the complete stators are treated with VPI technique. By these, our motors have excellent insulation, damp-resistant and impact-resistant performance. For the squirrel cage, there are two types- single cage and dual cage with copper bars. The copper bars are secured in slots and welded securely at the ends.
The upper bearings have two types- plan thrust sliding bearings and guide bearings. They are capable of bearing the axial load due to load and the radial load due to motor itself. They are lubricated using oil. The bottom bearings are rolling bearings equipped with non-stop lubrication system and they are lubricated using grease.
The main terminal box is enclosed type with the invasion protection of IP 54. The cable outlet of the connection box can be switched upwards, downwards, leftwards or rightwards. The connection box has a separate PE terminal.
The base of YL(IP21) motors with traditional structure are round welded structure. These motors are with insulation class of B. The bearings used for those are thrust bearings and upper/bottom guide bearings. They are lubricated using oil. The bottom bearings of part of the motors are rolling bearings with grease lubrication, while the rotor has the copper bars. The stator terminal box has a invasion protective cover.
D) Starting of Motors
a) The terminal voltage of the motor is not less than 85% of rated voltage when starting.
b) The characteristics of the counter-torque of the driven load are like pumps or blowers.
Under the above conditions, motors are allowed to start for twice continuously under cool condition or for once under hot condition. Between the two starts, it must be normal stop and the second start shall be activated after one hour.
If the driven machinery is not the pump type vertical machinery, please contact us prior to order. We will specially designed according your requirements to ensure the reliable starting of motor.
